Background

This course consists of three lessons for individuals interested in the practice of bullet journaling, a method of journaling that combines the organizing capabilities of a planner with the self-reflection of a diary.

The course addresses the most common components used in a bullet journal while also helping learners overcome the most common challenges that can derail their intention to use this method.

Training Needs Analysis

Project Overview: Assessment Development First Steps

Project Description:

This course encourages learners to begin bullet journaling by providing an overview of its benefits, outlining a basic framework to begin the habit, and working through solutions to challenges that frequently hinder those new to the practice.

Objectives:

Learners will be able to create a basic bullet journal that aligns with their personal needs and goals. Learners will be able to plan for and minimize challenges that impact their ability to maintain a journaling habit long-term.

Audience:

The target audience consists of individuals with little experience in keeping a journal of any kind for a long period. They have heard of for seen content related to bullet journaling through social media and may find the frequently artistic and idyllic examples to be appealing but intimidating. They may have also attempted to start bullet journaling or a similar method in the past, but were not able to maintain the habit.

Constraints:

  • The training should not require much of the learners time.
  • The training should include interactive elements that help learners process and recall basic information while also helping them create plans for their own journal.

Final Product Overview

The training consists of 3 lessons and 1 quiz:

  1. Bullet Journaling Basics: Foundation and Setup
  2. Bullet Journaling for Wellness, Goals, and Habits
  3. Sustaining Your Bullet Journal Practice
  4. Quiz: Testing Your Toolkit
